Patrick Manser
Curriculum Vitae
Patrick Manser received his Master’s degree in Health Sciences and Technology with a focus on Human Movement Sciences and Sport at ETH Zurich. He gained experience in developing training taxonomies for customizing exergame-based, cognitive-physical training interventions. For his Master’s Thesis, he evaluated key moderating factors of heart rate variability (HRV) responses to cognitive and physical exercises, laying the groundwork for innovative future approaches in developing patient-centered training and monitoring strategies. After completing his Master’s degree by the end of July 2020, he joined the Motor Control and Learning Lab as a doctoral student.
Research interests
Patrick Manser’s research focuses on the effects of simultaneous motor-cognitive training (i.e. exergaming) on cognitive functioning, structural and functional changes in the brain, as well as quality of life. He strives to develop user-centered exergame training concepts for older adults with mild neurocognitive disorder (mNCD). Furthermore, his goal is to gain new insights into dose-response relationships in exercise-cognition research and to implement personalized, real-time adaptive exergame approaches.
