Simone Huber

Curriculum vitae

Simone Huber received her Master’s degree in Health Sciences and Technology at ETH with a focus on Movement sciences and Sport. In the course of her studies, she gained insight into neurobiology, neurorehabilitation and technological advancements in this field. During an internship as sports therapist in a neurorehabilitation clinic, she gained practical views of neurological diseases and their rehabilitation. Following up on this, she performed her master thesis project in the neurorehabilitation, where Simone Huber investigated the feasibility of a motor-cognitive exergame training in patients with neurological diseases. This laid the foundation for her future PhD project, which she started in a cooperation of the University Hospital Zurich and the MCL group in April 2019.

Research interest

Simone Huber’s research focuses on motor-cognitive trainings and their effects on cognitive functions, gait, mobility, and health-related quality of life in chronic stroke patients. In her clinical studies, Simone Huber investigates user-centered exergame trainings, which combine cognitive challenges with whole-body movements. Her focus lies on individual progression in such interventions with the goal to create personalized training interventions for indidividual patients. A secondary research interest of Simone are gait and mobility assessments performed under daily-life relevant conditions.
